Pulsing- PEMF Therapy

Let Taylor know if you would like for your horse to be pulsed weekly/ twice weekly etc with our PEMF machine. We haven’t found a horse that doesn’t react favorably to this treatment. The normal cost per treatment is $125 for a half hour session. I feel so strongly that our horses should use this treatment that we have reduced the charge to $60 per session for CFI horses to encourage everyone to utilize this therapy.

What is PEMF Therapy?

PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field. Devices that utilize PEMF technology emit electromagnetic waves at different frequencies in order to stimulate and encourage your horse’s body’s natural recovery process. You’re probably wondering how PEMF technology can benefit when other electromagnetic fields – like those produced by microwaves and x-ray machines – are harmful. According to Bulletproof, “frequency and duration make all the difference.” The waves created by PEMF devices occur in brief bursts and are very low-frequency, like the electromagnetic waves found in nature. In fact, most waves involved in PEMF treatments have a lower frequency than you would be exposed to during a thunderstorm.

How Does PEMF Therapy Relieve Pain?

Your horse’s whole body, including skin, bones, and organs, is composed of cells. The membranes of healthy cells have positive and negative magnetic charges. These charges are required to exchange ions carrying chemical elements your body needs to function, like calcium and potassium. Over time your horse’s cells deteriorate or get injured, and when that happens they lose their magnetic charges – and with them, the ability to exchange ions. Symptoms like inflammation, fatigue, and pain are caused by damaged cells with low charges. PEMF technology targets the affected area and restores cells’ healthy electromagnetic charges.

Should I Explore PEMF Therapy?

If your horse suffers from pain, experiences pain from a recent injury, or is in a rigorous training program where they are expected to use themselves to the best of their ability, PEMF therapy may be able to help. PEMF therapy is a non-drug form of pain relief, and even better, it has never been associated with any negative side effects.
