Planning for your Rider’s Future

Hello Parents!

As I’m sure you have heard us say riding well is not about the height of the jumps but about having the proper strength and technical abilities to solve the questions the course asks of rider and horse.  Having said that, we know how excited the riders get about bigger jumps.  As stated on the leasing page of the Cedarhill website we require full leasing or owning to jump 2’6” or higher.  The increased height puts more strain on the animal requiring them to come out of the lesson program.  We as trainers can and will keep your rider learning and challenged but cannot make any more exceptions to this policy.  We would love to meet with you to discuss appropriate options for your child and are open to creative financial solutions.  We understand the cost of equestrian sports is high but as a farm we cannot sacrifice the health and longevity of the horses to meet the height goals of our riders.  As far as hacking on non lesson days, this privilege will be extended to those owning and leasing first.  On occasion it will be used as a ‘thank you’ for those donating their time around the farm but this is not a guarantee.  We love to have the riders out here and are happy to keep them busy, learning, and safe on their non riding days.  All of our riders and families are important to us as trainers and Cedarhill Farm as a whole.  I’m hoping this email will open the door for conversation so we can help your child meet their full riding potential.
Thank you,
Andrea
