We are starting off to a great start with our two newest members of our Cedarhill staff- Ms. Nancy Deel who is already proving to be a great help as office manager and assistant instructor. With great computer skills she is whipping our Mail Chimp Email list into submission, making it work as we had hoped it would- my blogs still going out to all Cedarhill families, but then separating out the lists of Cedarhill IEA families, Cedarhill Boarders, Cedarhill Riders, and outside riders interested in our Grassroots shows which with the help of Tanya we will be reviving. That way we aren’t inundating you with emails that don’t pertain to you, but sending you the ones that do.
Nancy is also heading up the full care Monday – Friday, doing a great job of maintaining clean, (as mud free as possible with this weather) shiny full conditioned tails, and thrush treated hooves.. Along with Tanya she is working with the vet on Tuesdays, and will have an accounting of what Dr Travis did, with any after care. Nancy is the one to contact to schedule new lessons, give barn tours, and will be making the adjustments to our feed, turn out, and walker computer schedules per the recommendation of Andrea and Caroline.
Tanya has been well received as an instructor, We appreciate the unsolicited testimonials we have already received from the parents and students she has taught the first day on the job. She has a great grasp of the foundation of riding that is critical at the start. I saw a great quote that bears repeating:
A beginner rider wants to work on intermediate horsemanship, an intermediate rider wants to to work on advanced horsemanship, but an advanced horseman wants to work on the basics….
The basics IS the foundation of all good riders and it becomes quite obvious when steps are missed.Tanya’s instruction at the beginning is what builds our riders to be as successful as we are. Feedback of any sort is welcome, but it’s a great feeling to have good feedback! Tanya will be opening up Tuesday afternoon lessons for our beginners, as well as filling the holes in Taylor’s old schedule. Jessica, our Saturday instructor and started with us towards the latter part of last year. She is doing a great job with our beginners as well, super positive, and fun, unlike me, who tries hard not to be the grumpy inpatient one. Nancy is busy contacting our long wait list to fill up Jennifer and Tanya’s and you should be seeing new families out here soon!
