We are always trying to do our best to keep our and your horses as sound and healthy as possible. At the end of the day, they truly weren’t designed to do the collected work in circles, jumping jumps, and carrying people on their back, especially to the extent that we want them, without some maintenance. This maintenance comes in many forms and we wanted to make sure everyone is clear on who exactly these people are;
We have our general practioner; Stony Hill Equine Vet Services with Dr Leslie Kinnin. We call her for all routine vaccinations, sheath cleaning, and coggins. Being local also makes her the ideal vet to call in the case of an emergency colic, or stitching …
Statesville Equine Vet Clinic with Dr Travis is now our orthopedic doctor, preventing and taking care of unsoundnesses. He comes most Tuesdays to do routine preventative care; injecting hocks, coffins, etc, as well as shock waving and laser treatments.
Dr Sam from Palmetto Equine has returned to us to help us with acupuncture and EPM diagnosis and treatment. He plans on coming every few weeks on an as needed basis.
When our pulse machine can’t get it done, we seek out Dr Duffy whose specialty is massage and muscle therapy.
All of these specialists, along with our farrier Matt Hull and dentist Charlie Chanler keep our horses at their best. Although we will do our best to advise you on best procedure for caring for your horse; let us know if there is any additional care. As much as you pay in board, training, and the actual lease or purchase price of your horse, our goal is for you enjoy them to their fullest!
