We had a successful time in Aiken this past month. During the first week we had a bit of some dreary wet stuff but we still had fun. Lizzy and Dante had their first show back in a super long time and steadily improved. Dante was super solid for Lizzy which really helped.
Sydney experienced her first A show ever, and on Mouse put in very respectable rounds in a competitive regular large pony division, as did Wesley on Ollie.
Davenport had a great weekend- winning the Pony Classic, USEF Pony Medal, and the Large Pony Championship with Justin.
Kat moved up to the Low Junior Hunter division with Magnus and rode nervous the first day, much better the second day, winning classes and confidence.
The second week with some unbelievably nice weather. Kat returned with Magnus and rode well- champion in the Low Junior Hunter division, as well good ribbons in her first USEF National Derby and some Equitation classes.
Despite being a bit rusty, not having showed since Blowing Rock, Emily and Sawyer were great. They were second in the National Derby and Reserve Champion in the Amateur Owner Hunter Division.
The ribbons didn’t reflect what a great week Wesley had, she picked up where she left off with Ollie and was solid. Ollie is slowly but surely turning into a very nice made show pony, as opposed to the green pony Kat and Wesley started with.
Justin was a bit more tired and Davenport wasn’t as strong and consistent as the previous week; they were respectable but returned home hungry to turn it up and be more consistent next time.
The Gigi’s made their appearance, still lots to work on but progress was made, and they were good.
Coleman had a fun time with Tiger in the Low Jr/Amateur Hunter Division. As consistently good as they were in the first class of the day, Coleman is still looking forward to getting Eli back in the show ring as well.
