We put Day turn out off as long as possible- this is the first time ever that we have managed due to th mild weather, to be able to stay on Night Turn Out for this long. It used to be October 1st was the change over, then November 1st… Now for 2020- December 1st! This means that when you come out to ride your horse/pony might still be in his field- so allow extra time to fetch him/her. This does mean however that your mount is warmed up, as they have been walking around all day, rather than standing in their stall. After a vigorous lesson though- especially for both our more advanced horses and those we are working harder to maintain sound- we recommend rubbing down with a liniment and then wrapping. Those Back on Track Quick wraps are easy enough to use. Horseware also makes a similar product. They are much quicker, as their name implies to both wrap and unwrap, yet they offer the support we are looking for when they will need to stand in their stall for the night. Please make sure you leave a wrap bag outside your stall for us to put the wraps in after use.
