Based on our enrollment we have decided to restructure our camps to better serve our current clientele. We will have the 2025 registration forms on our website shortly for all who want to participate!
Horsemasters – (beginner to WTC)
Horsematers will continue to serve those new to riding through learning to canter. A strong emphasis will be placed on horsemanship in and out of the tack. Riders will become self-sufficient with catching, grooming, and tacking. 2 hours of saddle time per day will develop a strong foundation in the walk and trot and for those able with the canter. Riders will learn to steer their mount, 2 point position, posting, and more. Using interactive activities, afternoons will be spent around the barn learning about colors, markings, body parts, tack, and all things horse and pony. Our riders will go home with a workbook so they can share all they learned during the week.
Showmanship – MAJOR CHANGES (x-rail – 2’6)
These camps will align with 2 of our summer C shows. The riders will spend the week learning all things horse show. There is so much more to it than competing. How to wrap, how to set up and load a trailer, what to pack and why, how to read and walk a course, the difference between hunter, jumper, and equitation, classic round vs handy round, how to test. Etc, etc, etc.
Riders will go to the show with their horses to help set up, prep, and compete. We will discuss what the judges are looking for in the respective sections. At the show the campers will have their own judges cards to compare with the results of the judges.
Depending on the level of interest in this camp we will have a rated judge come do a day clinic to discuss their personal perspective and what they look for in a rider and a mount.
This is a great opportunity to learn the behind the scenes of all that goes into being a competitive athlete in the ring.
Intermediate – 2’ and up
Get your rider and your horse out of the ring. This camp provides exposure to other aspects of the equestrian world. Trail riding, field riding, swimming with your horse, and more. Depending on the level of interest we will inquire about saddle seat and western riding opportunities as well as the possibility of bringing a dressage instructor in for the day. Our riders have a great foundation in hunt seat that allows them to transition safely and effectively into these other disciplines to further their education.
