If you have not already done so, now is the time to renew your USEF, USHJA, NCHJA, SCHJA, and for those doing C shows- BRHJA memberships. The beginning of the new show year starts December 1st confusingly enough, although SCHJA seems to have rolling membership??? . This can all be done online on each of the respective websites. Note that you do not need to be a member of the state associations- NCHJA or SCHJA unless you are participating in their medals however your points won’t count for year end recognition. A lot of our Cedarhill riders are attending the SCHJA banquet this year to pick up our fair share of year end awards and perhaps the NCHJA banquet. It is a lot of fun! If you are the only one that is a member, only your equitation point will be counted. If your only your horse is a member (a lot of our Cedarhill owned horses are, but check to be sure) only their hunter points will count. For BOTH TO COUNT, RIDERS and HORSES must be members!
To attend an A Show riders and horses must be members of USEF (national association) and USHJA ( it’s affiliate) or pay a non member fee. Most pay the discounted rate by getting a 3 membership.
